I cannot say how much I adore my Nesco cooker. I am cooking beef stew in it as we speak. There is not so much as a whistle or a peep coming from it. SUPER easy to use. I docked a star for the fact that the book that comes with it it nearly worthless, (you have to really do alot of experimenting - as it doesn't give many recipes or details on the appliance itself.)HOWEVER - the cooker is easy enough to figure out without the book. I use it more often than my crock pot now.
